A Fela Kuti Tribute from Nikhil P. Yerawader's Living Language

Watch Recording Below

Nikhil P. Yerawader's Living Language offers a Fela Kuti Tribute performance - presented by Theoria Foundation

Led by multi-instrumentalist Nikhil P. Yerawadekar of Antibalas and Low Mentality, Living Language pays homage to Fela Kuti and his Afrobeat concept in a nimble, soulful jazz format. The ensemble features musicians from Antibalas, Akoya Afrobeat, Charles Bradley & The Extraordinaires, and Midnight Magic. Living Language creates dance-friendly new colloquialisms. Sonorous and funky, the band aims to develop the musical language of Afrobeat.

Curated by Isabel Soffer / Hudson Valley Live and Olivier Conan / Barbès Brooklyn
