Bria Skonberg and Elizabeth Goodfellow: From Jazz, Folk, and Indie Rock to the American Songbook - presented by Theoria Foundation

Master musicians and longtime friends Bria Skonberg (Trumpet, Vocals, Piano, Ukulele) and Elizabeth Goodfellow (Marimba, Vocals, Drums, Percussion) perform a canon of material inspired by Joni Mitchell, Steve Reich, Duke Ellington, Tom Waits and more. A Juno award winner and 8-time Downbeat Rising Star, Bria is an extraordinarily talented multi-instrumentalist and vocalist who will perform on trumpet, vocals, piano, and ukulele. She has performed at most major North American jazz festivals with her own group; with “Monterey Jazz On Tour” (a supergroup of young talent featuring Cecile McLorin-Salvant and Jamison Ross); and with Jon Batiste, Stephane Wrembel and Wycliffe Gordon. In 2022, she received the “Legend” award from the Society for the Preservation of the Great American Songbook.

An inimitable artist, Elizabeth will perform on marimba, vocals, drums, and percussion. Currently touring with three-time Grammy nominee and Juno Award winner Allison Russell, Elizabeth has also toured or recorded with Iron & Wine, Madison Cunningham, Calexico, boygenius (Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker), Orkesta Mendoza and Lauren Monroe (sharing drumming duties with Rick Allen of Def Leppard). Beth has served as a drummer for acts on major TV shows including Jimmy Kimmel Live, James Corden and Steven Colbert, and on a special episode of The Ellen Show hosted by Brandi Carlile. Elizabeth’s most recent solo effort is the bandcamp-only album “Hunting the Silence”, which included a reactive-lighting-enhanced performance at Club Congress in Tucson, AZ.
