Birds and Botany

Birds_and_Botany.png

Join garden geek Kris and bird nerd Nathaniel for a walk of the farm as we take a look at the last wildflowers of the season while keeping our eyes and ears open for birds during this season of fall migration. We will walk along the field edges and through the forest and wetlands that make up the majority of the farm's property. Botanical highlights include Goldenrods, Asters, and more; birds have wings and are a bit harder to predict, but we can hope for colorful local characters such as flickers and kingfishers, as well as world travelers such as warblers and kinglets. Bring binoculars if you have them.

We encourage folks to wear waterproof shoes this time of year!

Suggested Donation is a sliding scale of $10-$20.

For the past 25 years, Kris has been overseeing greenhouses, gardens and indoor plant collections for both businesses and estates throughout the Hudson Valley. She spends her free time learning about plants, where-ever they may be growing, by exploring in the woods, fields, on mountain trails, stream sides, road sides, overgrown lots, and even cracks in a sidewalk!
