This special evening will feature a live performance by hit songwriter Kara DioGuardi whose work includes Kelly Clarkson’s “Walk Away,” P!nk’s “Sober,” Christina Aguilera’s “Ain’t No Other Man,” and Celine Dion’s “Taking Chances.” The former American Idol judge will perform select hits from her catalog sharing the process behind her writing and finishing the evening with the title song for the Woodstock Film Festival world premiere, HERE. IS. BETTER.
DioGuardi co-wrote the song with Jeremiah Fraites of the Grammy-nominated band The Lumineers who will make a special video appearance. She will also share the stage with Ian Wolff and local composer and music producer David Baron who co-wrote the HERE. IS. BETTER. score with Fraites.
Kara DioGuardi’s collaborations with P!nk, Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson, Celine Dion, Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, and more have garnered 11 Grammy nominations and 23 BMI Awards. Her songwriting catalog includes 150 songs from RIAA Platinum albums and 50 charting singles, cumulatively surpassing one billion streams. DioGuardi co-founded Arthouse Entertainment two decades ago. Arthouse’s past and present copyrights include hits from Bruno Mars, Eminem, Carrie Underwood, Halsey, Florida Georgia Line, and many more. Her true passion is developing talent, something she did as a judge on two seasons of American Idol and still does today as Berklee College of Music’s Herb Alpert Visiting Scholar.
Jeremiah Fraites is a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and co-founder of the Grammy Award-nominated and Billboard Music Award-nominated band The Lumineers. Their 2012 self-titled debut album, which featured the hit single “Ho Hey,” is certified triple-platinum. The band’s second album, Cleopatra, was #1 on the Billboard Top 200 and is certified platinum. They’ve had 18 #1 hits on AAA, Alternative, and other radio charts. The Lumineers’ most recent album, III, debuted #2 on the Billboard album chart and had two #1 radio singles, “Gloria” and “Life in The City,” and the band’s film III, made its world premiere at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival.
David Baron is a record producer, film composer, musician, arranger, and engineer who is a longtime resident of Woodstock. The artists he has worked with include: The Lumineers, Shania Twain, Jade Bird, Shawn Mendes, Vance Joy, Meghan Trainor, Lenny Kravitz, Jeremiah Fraites, Josin, Matt Maeson, and Lana Del Rey. He blends retro and modern, orchestrated and raw. He releases his own music on UK-based Here and Now Recordings, and was involved with recordings of Leonard Bernstein, Ray Charles, Journey, and even Bob Hope Specials.
