Salary Range: $120,000 to $135,000 depending on experience plus benefits
Location: White Feather Farm, Saugerties, New York, with limited remote possible.

White Feather Farm, Inc. (WFF) is looking to recruit a highly motivated, entrepreneurial thinker with a business mind and financial acumen who can lead, inspire and work side by side with a talented staff already in place. Founded in 2020 as a 501c3, we are looking to diversify our income streams and grow awareness around our unique mission as we share knowledge and gather community across generations on our working 66 acre certified organic farm.
We are a farm based hands on education and innovation hub looking for the right person to embrace our mission with the same passion we do.
Primary Responsibilities
Strategic Planning and Project Management: We have an amazing farm crew and program team who need the right kind of leader to create an integrated organizational plan designed to maximize revenue, awareness, and build teams. Must be able to manage farm operations and large scale projects with support of the team.
Organizational Growth: In 2024 we are seeking to diversify our funding streams and increase our following. Oversee and grow our onsite and online Farm Stand, wholesale, flower fields, kids and adult outdoor classroom and education program, fundable science projects and workshops. A comprehensive list of programming will be discussed upon application.
Leadership and Inspiration: Are you a positive team oriented person brimming with ideas and the organizational skills to achieve them and get others on board?
Programming and Financial Management: Work with our great team to create programs that bring people together and share knowledge around environmental impact,adaptability, farming, traditional crafts, the arts while controlling costs and raising funds
Community Growth and Strategic Partnerships: Building awareness and identifying strategic partnerships plus inspiring/building/managing/reporting to our Board, making new contacts with the education community, funders, farm, artistic, revenue generating partnerships.
Qualifications:
5 + years of experience as Executive Director or similar position with executive leadership experience, budgeting, fundraising, people management, communications and organizational development., with experience in budgeting, financial reporting, and grant applications.
Strong track record in fundraising with experience with soliciting major donors and private and government grants, non-profit budgeting, grant writing and reporting and activating board members and volunteers required.
Knowledge of non profit accounting requirements, HR policies and NY State employment practices, small farm management practices and running a profitable farm is preferred.
Minimum of Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in education, non profit management or relevant private sector.
Ability to design, direct and implement dynamic organizational strategy including a robust fundraising program, streamlined systems, geared to diversify revenue streams, initiate strategic partnerships and work with a team to oversee program development, education program workshops and science based projects and maximize farm productivity and potential.
Love of farming, environmental education and the arts is vital. Do you love chickens and ducks? Filmmaking? We'll tell you more when we meet you.
Knowledge or a keen interest in climate smart farming and carbon sequestration are helpful.
Ability to have fun and inspire teamwork, fair and easy going, committed to personal and professional integrity.
